Rear-End Collisions and Driver Safety in Kansas

Douglas County, KS – Two Injured in Rear-End Crash on I-70 Westbound

Rear-end collisions are among the most common types of crashes on highways and interstates. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), these accidents account for nearly 29% of all traffic incidents in the United States. Often caused by distracted driving, tailgating, or speeding, these collisions can result in serious injuries, particularly at high speeds. In Kansas, the risk increases on major roadways like I-70, where traffic volume and driver fatigue are frequent contributing factors. Preventative measures such as maintaining a safe following distance and wearing a seatbelt can significantly reduce the severity of injuries in such crashes.
