Hoyt, KS (July 12, 2024) – On Thursday, July 11, a passenger was injured after a car accident in the Hoyt area. The crash was reported at the intersection of US-75 and 110th Road early that morning around 10:30 a.m. It was later revealed that 45-year-old Maria Goddard of Overland Park was traveling westbound on 110th in a sport utility vehicle at the time of the impact.
Goddard entered the intersection where she was hit by a northbound pickup truck driven by 77-year-old Royce Cole of Omaha, NE. A passenger in the pickup was injured and transported to a Topeka hospital for treatment. The victim was later identified as 68-year-old Susan Fredricks also from Omaha. No other injuries were reported in the collision. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
