Intersection Accidents in Kansas

Jetmore, KS – Three Children Seriously Injured in Intersection Crash

Intersections are one of the most common locations for motor vehicle crashes. According to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), nearly 25% of all traffic fatalities and about 50% of all injury crashes in the United States occur at or near intersections. Failure to yield is a leading cause of these accidents, especially in rural areas where high speeds and limited visibility can make collisions more severe. In Kansas, many rural intersections lack traffic signals or stop signs, heightening the risk of serious crashes when drivers fail to stop or yield the right-of-way.

When intersection crashes occur, victims often face significant medical costs, lengthy recoveries, and lasting trauma.
