Kansas City, KS (March 21, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle crash occurred on Friday morning at approximately 9:26 a.m. on northbound I-635 near Orville Avenue in Wyandotte County. The accident involved a commercial tractor-trailer and an SUV, resulting in injuries to both the truck driver and two occupants of the SUV.
According to authorities, the crash happened when a 2024 Freightliner tractor-trailer, traveling on the northbound I-635 ramp from I-70 eastbound, lost control while navigating a curve. The truck overturned and subsequently collided with a 2011 Ford Explorer, which was traveling in the right lanes of northbound I-635. Emergency responders arrived on the scene to provide aid to the victims and clear the wreckage. Traffic in the area was temporarily restricted as crews worked to investigate and remove the damaged vehicles.
The driver of the Freightliner, identified as 31-year-old Ramazon Ergashev from Brooklyn, New York, sustained suspected minor injuries. He was properly restrained at the time of the crash. The driver of the Ford Explorer, 24-year-old Karely Alejandra Macias Diaz of Kansas City, Kansas, suffered suspected serious injuries and was transported to KU Med for treatment. Additionally, a 6-year-old passenger in the SUV, Doh Alexander Htoo II, was taken to Children’s Mercy South in Overland Park with suspected minor injuries. Authorities confirmed that the child was properly restrained in a child safety seat.
