Kansas City, KS (October 24, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a two-vehicle collision in the Kansas City area on Wednesday, October 23. The accident took place on Interstate 635 SB near State Avenue early that morning, around 7:06 a.m. Local reports revealed that a 1999 Mack truck and a 2014 Hyundai Sonata were traveling southbound in the first lane at the time of the crash.
For unknown reasons, traffic began to slow on the interstate. The driver of the Mack truck, 62-year-old Harvey D. Marshall of Kansas City, MO, failed to slow down and crashed into the back of the Hyundai. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. Marshall was transported by ambulance to the Kansas University Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. The driver of the Hyundai, 28-year-old Gabrielle A. Miller of Parkville, MO, was also injured and treated at the scene. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
