Linn County, KS (June 2, 2025) – A three-vehicle crash caused injuries on Monday evening west of County Road 1077 in rural Linn County. The accident took place around 6:50 p.m. near 7737 W 2100th Road. According to officials, a westbound vehicle struck a trailer attached to a stopped truck, causing a chain-reaction crash that injured one passenger.
The collision began when a 1998 Buick LeSabre, driven by 25-year-old Malik Zackiria Nash of Parker, crested a hill and struck the trailer of a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado that was stopped westbound, waiting to make a left-hand turn into a driveway. The impact pushed the trailer into an eastbound 2013 Buick Encore carrying four occupants. Thirteen-year-old Kaylynn Benjamin of Fontana sustained a suspected minor injury and was transported to Paola Hospital. The other vehicle occupants, including two children and both drivers, were reportedly uninjured. Emergency personnel responded, and towing services cleared the scene. The Kansas Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
Our thoughts are with Kaylynn Benjamin and her family during this time. We hope for her quick and full recovery.
