Tonganoxie, KS (March 9, 2024) – There were reported injuries after a two-vehicle collision in the Tonganoxie area on Friday afternoon, March 8. The accident was reported at around 12:55 p.m. on Interstate 20 near Exit 212. A semi-truck and a passenger car reportedly collided at the scene.
Local sources revealed that a Peterbilt semi-truck driven by 34-year-old Tyler Hesselman of Tonanoxie was traveling westbound at the time of the crash. The commercial truck approached a 2016 Jeep Patriot driven by 25-year-old Sky Jackson of Topeka when the truck rear-ended the SUV. Jackson was hurt and treated at the scene by attending medical personnel.
The area was temporarily closed as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. No updates on the condition of the crash victim have been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being handled by local law enforcement officials.
