Head-On Collisions in Kansas
Head-on collisions are among the most dangerous types of vehicle crashes, often resulting in severe injuries or fatalities. According to data from the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), head-on crashes account for a small percentage of total accidents but nearly 30% of fatal crashes statewide. Nationally, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that such accidents frequently occur when a vehicle crosses the centerline, often due to distraction, fatigue, or impaired driving. These types of crashes tend to produce extreme impact forces, making them particularly deadly.
