Topeka, KS (September 22, 2025) – On Monday morning, September 22, a pedestrian accident was reported in a parking lot near NW Frontage Road and Brickyard Road in Shawnee County. The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. and resulted in one person being hospitalized with injuries.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by 41-year-old Jose Luis Gutierrez of Topeka, was involved in the crash with a pedestrian identified as 42-year-old Travis Michael Catlin of Holton. Catlin sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Stormont Vail Hospital for treatment. Gutierrez, the driver of the Chevrolet, was not injured. No tow was required for the vehicle, and authorities confirmed the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
