Banner, KS - Man Dies in Semi-Truck Crash at M Rd & KS-16

Banner, KS (April 20, 2024) – On Friday, April 19, a man was killed after a two-vehicle collision in the Banner area. The deadly accident occurred at the intersection of M Road and KS-16 that afternoon around 2 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 1984 Ford F-250 pickup truck collided with a 2014 Peterbilt semi-truck. 

Local reports revealed that 77-year-old James A. Rolfe of Holton was heading southbound in the pickup on M Road when he entered the intersection. The Ford was struck by the oncoming commercial truck driven by 34-year-old Kyle Wade Puckett of Pickering, MO. Rolfe sustained fatal injuries in the impact and was later pronounced dead at the scene by attending emergency crews. The area was temporarily closed as local authorities worked to clear the scene. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
