Burlingame, KS (April 7, 2024) – A man from Oklahoma City was injured after a two-vehicle collision in the Burlingame area on Saturday, April 6. The collision was reported on Interstate 335 in Osage County that afternoon around 3:30 p.m. Local reports revealed that a southbound pickup truck was hit by a white Swift semi-truck near mile marker 161 on the Kansas Turnpike.
The 18-wheeler reportedly made a lane change and hit the pickup. Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. The driver of the pickup, 42-year-old Christopher Hokett of Oklahoma City, was transported to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka for treatment of sustained injuries. No other injuries were reported in the accident. The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. No further information on the collision is currently available.
