Lawrence, KS (April 11, 2024) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a truck in the Lawrence area on Wednesday, April 10. The incident was reported at the corner of Jawhawk Boulevard and Sunflower Road early that morning around 11:12 a.m. The injured party was traveling in a crosswalk near Kansas University when there struck by the oncoming vehicle.
Emergency crews were quickly dispatched to the scene. The victim was reportedly trapped underneath the vehicle when responders arrived. The pedestrian was quickly transferred to Stormont Vail in Topeka for treatment of serious injuries. Local reports revealed that the injuries were potentially life-threatening. The identity of the involved parties has not been provided at this time. No further updates on the crash are currently available.
