Little Valley, KS - Driver Hurt in Deadly Crash at KS-61 & Arapaho Rd

Little Valley, KS (April 4, 2024) – One driver was hurt and another was killed after a two-vehicle collision in the Little Valley area on Wednesday, April 3. The deadly collision took place at the intersection of KS-61 and Arapaho Road early that morning around 7:27 a.m. Local reports revealed that a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by 92-year-old Harry Neufeldt of Inman was traveling westbound at the time of the accident. 

Neufeldt reportedly failed to yield while crossing the intersection and collided with a 2020 Kia Soul driven by 31-year-old Aung Thiha Kyaw of Salina headed northbound. The truck came to a rest on the highway, while the Kia came to a stop in the roadway median. Neufeldt was transported to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead. Kyaw suffered serious injuries and was transferred by ambulance to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. No additional information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
