Wamego, KS (May 30, 2024) – There were reported injuries after a two-vehicle crash in the Wamego area on Wednesday, May 29. The accident was reported at the intersection of K-99 and US-24 early that morning around 7:10 a.m. Local reports revealed that a Cadillac SRX and a Mitsubishi Outlander collided at the scene. 

It was later reported that 26-year-old Audrey Powell of Wamego was traveling southbound in the Cadillac when she failed to obey a traffic signal and collided with the eastbound Mitsubishi. The driver of the Outlander, 36-year-old Rachel Huffman of Ogden, was injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital for treatment. There was also a juvenile in the Mitsubishi, but no information on their condition is currently available. The impact caused at least one vehicle to overturn. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
