Wichita, KS - Motorcyclist Hurt in Accident at Kellogg & Ellson St

Wichita, KS (May 10, 2024) – A driver was hurt after a two-vehicle crash in the Wichita area on Thursday, May 9. The accident took place at the 11661 block of E. Kellogg Street near Ellson Street that afternoon around 4:16 p.m. Local reports revealed that a 2016 Kawasaki ZX1000 ridden by 21-year-old Brayden Lee Burgardt of Haysville was traveling eastbound on Kellogg at the time of the crash. 

At the same time, 55-year-old Osmany Vargas of Wichita was traveling northbound on Ellson in a 1993 Freightliner USF-1E. Vargas was attempting to make a left turn at the intersection when the two vehicles collided. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid. Burgardt was injured and transported to Wesley Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. No further information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident.
