Topeka, KS (April 29, 2024) – A fatal collision in the Topeka area resulted in lane closures on Monday, April 29. The accident was reported early that morning around 1 a.m. on Interstate 335 SB Local reports revealed that a 2015 Mercedes M-Class was traveling north in the southbound lanes of the interstate as a 22-year-old man was headed north in a 2022 Freightliner semi-truck.
The drivers were unable to avoid colliding head-on. The impact caused the Mercedes to catch fire. It was later reported that one person involved in the crash was killed.
