Baker, KS (February 24, 2024) – A woman was seriously hurt following a crash with a commercial vehicle in the Baker area on Thursday, February 22. The accident took place that afternoon at around 3 p.m. on KS-126 in Crawford County. Local reports indicated that a 40-year-old woman from Pittsburg was traveling eastbound in a 2002 Mercury Sable at the time of the accident. 

Local sources indicated that the driver collided with a 1998 Peterbilt Tractor pulling a trailer operated by a 43-year-old man from Turney, MO. The truck was reportedly in the process of making a left turn into a parking lot at the time of the crash. The driver of the Sable suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. 

Emergency responders were present to provide aid to the involved parties. The area was temporarily closed as authorities worked to clear the scene of the resulting debris. No further information on the accident is currently available. Local law enforcement officials are handling an ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
