Valley Center, KS (April 20, 2024) – A driver was hurt after a two-vehicle collision in the Valley Center area on Friday, April 19. The accident was reported on Interstate 135 near N. 101st Street early that morning around 7:45 a.m. Local reports revealed that two vehicles collided on the highway.
Local reports indicated that a 2014 Dodge Charger driven by 42-year-old Shilo Childers of Galva was traveling southbound behind a 2017 Ford Explorer driven by 66-year-old Mary Cook of Westcliffe, CO. The Ford was hauling a trailer that Childers hit from behind. The impact caused the trailer to detach and flip. Both vehicles spun out into the median as a result of the crash. Childers was hurt in the crash and treated at the scene by attending medical personnel before being transported by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is underway.
