Catlin, KS (October 8, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a two-vehicle collision in the Catlin area on Monday, October 7. The incident took place on US-50 near Nighthawk Road that morning around 11:10 a.m. Local sources revealed that 49-year-old Patrick Oliver Dye of Marion was headed north in a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck stopped at the intersection.
At the same time, 82-year-old Donald W. Rich of Kingsville, MO was headed west 2013 Ford Fusion. Dye entered the intersection and crashed into the Fusion. The impact caused the Fusion to leave the roadway and enter a north ditch. Emergency crews were rushed to the scene to provide the necessary aid. Rich and his passenger, 83-year-old Joyce Rich of Kingsville, MO, were injured. Both parties were transported by ambulance to St. Luke Hospital. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
