Intersection-related Crashes in Kansas
Intersections are among the most dangerous places for drivers. According to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), nearly 50% of all injury crashes in the U.S. occur at or near intersections. In Kansas, failure to yield at intersections is a common cause of crashes, especially when drivers misjudge the speed or distance of oncoming vehicles. These types of collisions often happen when visibility is limited or when drivers fail to fully stop and check for cross traffic. Preventable crashes like these highlight the ongoing need for defensive driving and increased public awareness of intersection safety.
