Fort Scott, KS (August 2, 2024) – A head-on impact in the Fort Scott area on Thursday, August 2, resulted in confirmed injuries. The crash was reported that afternoon around 1:15 on K-39 west of K-7. Local reports indicated that 22-year-old Quentin F. Morey of Tecumseh was headed east on K-39 in a 2006 Nissan SUV as 60-year-old Steven K. Bahr of Rush Springs, OK was traveling westbound in a 2025 Freightliner commercial truck.
For unknown reasons, Morey crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the oncoming semi-truck. Morey sustained critical injuries in the crash and was rushed to Mercy Hospital-Joplin in Missouri for treatment. No updates on the conditions of the involved parties have been provided at this time.
