Garden City, KS (March 6, 2025) – On Thursday, March 6, an injury crash was reported at approximately 12:55 p.m. in Finney County. The accident occurred at the intersection of K23 and Oyler Road, about two miles south of K156. According to investigators, the crash involved a Dodge Ram 2500 and a Peterbilt truck tractor. One driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities state that the crash happened when a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500, driven by 65-year-old James Riepl of Cimarron, Kansas, was stopped at a posted stop sign but failed to yield when entering the intersection. The Dodge attempted to turn left in front of an oncoming 2014 Peterbilt truck tractor, driven by 49-year-old Michael B. Rolland of Dodge City, Kansas. The Peterbilt collided with the front of the Dodge, causing it to overturn in the west ditch, while the Dodge remained in the intersection. Emergency responders arrived on the scene and transported Rolland to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Dodge City with suspected minor injuries. No other significant injuries were reported.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim, and we hope for a full and swift recovery.
