Haviland, KS (March 15, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle collision occurred on Saturday evening on U.S. 54 at milepost 121.6, approximately 3.7 miles east of Haviland. The crash took place at around 7:25 p.m. when an eastbound BMW 740 drifted left of center and struck a westbound Volvo semi-truck. The driver of the BMW sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Emergency responders transported the BMW driver, Timothy Mason, 22, of Goodwell, Oklahoma, to Pratt Regional Medical Center for treatment of suspected serious injuries. Authorities confirmed that Mason was not wearing a safety restraint at the time of the crash. The Volvo’s driver, Berhane Kidane, 42, of Tucson, Kansas, did not sustain any injuries. The vehicles were removed from the scene by Complete Tow Service and Cody Drosselmeyer Towing. Officials are actively investigating the circumstances leading to the accident, and further details may be released as the investigation progresses.
