Junction City, KS (February 20, 2024) – On Saturday, February 17, three people were injured after a tire blowout resulted in a car accident in the Manhattan area. The crash occurred on KS-18 that afternoon at around 1:32 p.m. Local reports revealed that a driver from Manhattan was driving a Mazda 3 on the highway when the tire blew. This caused the vehicle to lose control and hit a guardrail. The occupants exited the vehicle and ran toward the westbound lane to signal a 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer to stop. The driver of a 1999 GMC pickup truck was unable to stop and crashed into the rear of the Chevy.
