Kansas City, KS (March 6, 2024) – On Tuesday afternoon, March 5, two people were hurt after a car accident in the Kansas City area. The collision was reported at around 2:24 p.m. on Interstate 635 NB near Interstate 70. A 2017 Cadillac driven by 34-year-old Monique Marie Gallegos of Las Vegas, NV was reportedly traveling northbound on I-635.
Gallegos collided with a 2015 Nissan Sentra driven by 56-year-old Arlene M. McWilliams of Kansas City while attempting to take an exit. The Cadillac left the roadway where it overturned several times. Gallegos was transported to KU Medical Center for treatment of sustained injuries.
The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. No additional injuries have been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
