Kansas City, KS (April 14, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a car accident in the Kansas City area on Saturday, April 13. The collision was reported late that night around 8:18 p.m. on Interstate 70 WB near 57th Street in Wyandotte County. Local reports revealed that a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica driven by 43-year-old Miram Maldonado-Guzman of Kansas City was traveling westbound in the number three lane on the interstate leading up to the incident.
At the same time, a 2022 Toyota Tacoma driven by 46-year-old James T. Frederickson of Basehor was also headed west in the number two lane. Maldonado-Guzman made a lane change when it hit the Toyota. The Chrysler then hit a left barrier wall before overturning. Both Maldonado-Guzman and her passenger, 39-year-old Telma N. Garcia of Kansas City, were injured in the collision. The injured parties were later transferred to the Kansas University Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
