Overland Park, KS (April 7, 2024) – Three people suffered injuries following a two-vehicle crash in the Overland Park area on Saturday, April 6. The accident was reported that evening around 10:15 p.m. on Interstate 35 SB near Lamar Avenue. A 2018 GMC sport utility vehicle driven by 30-year-old Christopher D. H. Manning of Lenexa and a 2014 Mazda Crossover driven by 36-year-old Shannon H. De Buchel of Overland Park were traveling southbound on the interstate at the time of the accident.
Manning was traveling at a high rate of speed when he rear-ended the Mazda. The GMC proceeded to leave the roadway where it overturned into a ditch. Manning was transported by ambulance to OPR Medical Center ER of Shawnee for treatment of sustained injuries. De Buchel and their passenger, identified as 33-year-old Jennifer C. De Buhcel also from Overland, were both transferred to the Kansas University Medical Center in stable condition. No further updates on the accident are currently available.
