Tecumseh, KS - Woman Fatally Struck Pushing Bike on US-40

Tecumseh, KS (February 23, 2024) – On Thursday, February 22, a woman was killed while walking along a highway outside of Tecumseh. Local reports revealed that the deadly pedestrian crash occurred at the 6000 block of US-40 early that morning at around 10 a.m. The victim was pushing a bike while walking along the highway when she was hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck. 

The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. The victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated with responding officials. 

The deceased party was later identified as 63-year-old Patricia S. McDonald of Topeka. At this time, no additional information on the crash has been provided. Local law enforcement officials are conducting an investigation into the deadly accident, and more updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
