Lane Drifting Accidents in Kansas

Topeka, KS – Woman Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on K-4

Driver inattention, fatigue, or impairment are leading causes of vehicles drifting out of their lanes and into oncoming traffic. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), lane departure crashes account for a significant percentage of fatal collisions nationwide. In Kansas, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) reports that roadway departure crashes made up over 40% of all traffic fatalities in recent years. Even at lower speeds, sideswipe and head-on crashes caused by lane drifting can result in severe injuries due to the angle and force of impact.

When another driver crosses into your lane, the consequences can be life-changing. Accident victims are often left with costly medical bills, lost wages, and long-term recovery needs.
