Wellington, KS - Passenger Hurt in Collision at US-81 & 60th Ave

Wellington, KS (April 12, 2024) – A passenger was hurt following a two-vehicle crash in the Wellington area on Thursday, April 11. The incident was reported at the intersection of US-81 and E. 60th Avenue early that morning around 8:37 a.m. Local reports revealed that a 2007 Nissan Maxima driven by 18-year-old Whitney Elizabeth Zeka of Wellington was headed westbound on 60th when she failed to yield at a stop sign. 

It was then that a northbound 2007 Chrysler 300M driven by 78-year-old Gary L. Terry also from Wellington crashed into the Nissan. A passenger in the Chrysler, identified as 76-year-old Georgia Marie Terry of Wellington, was injured in the crash. She was transported to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Wellington for treatment. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
