Hutchinson, KS (April 28, 2025) – On Monday afternoon, April 28, a two-vehicle crash involving a trailer occurred on US-50 Westbound near milepost 241, just east of the Arkansas River in Reno County. The incident was reported at approximately 3:03 p.m. and resulted in injuries to at least one person.
According to authorities, a 2018 Toyota Rav-4 towing a single-axle flatbed trailer was traveling westbound in lane two when it was rear-ended by a 2016 Ram 1500. The impact caused the trailer to detach and come to rest in the center median. Both vehicles eventually stopped on the right shoulder. The driver of the Toyota, 78-year-old George A. Sanders of Stafford, KS, sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. The driver of the Ram, 68-year-old Connie Marie Boese of Hillsboro, KS, reported pain but was not transported. Emergency responders cleared the scene, and traffic was temporarily affected.
