Lane-Change Accidents and Motorcycle Safety in Kansas
Lane-change accidents pose a significant risk, particularly for motorcyclists. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that motorcyclists are 28 times more likely than passenger vehicle occupants to die in a crash. Improper or unsafe lane changes are a leading cause of collisions involving motorcycles, which can be difficult for drivers to see due to their smaller size and limited visibility in blind spots. Proper signaling, checking mirrors, and shoulder checks are crucial for preventing these types of accidents.
