Genessee, KS (March 2, 2024) – A passenger was injured following a two-vehicle crash outside of Genessee on Friday, March 1. The collision was reported at around 4:34 p.m. at the Interstate 670 EB near mile marker one. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to provide aid to the involved parties. 

Local reports revealed that a 20024 Honda Odyssey driven by 19-year-old Daniel Gotsch of Manhattan was traveling eastbound when he rear-ended a 2013 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by 32-year-old Ryan C. Herrington of Independence, MO. A passenger in the Honda, 17-year-old Isabella Gotsch, was transported to KU Medical Center for treatment of sustained injuries. No updates on their condition have been provided at this time. 

The area was temporarily closed as emergency crews worked to clear the scene. The cause of the accident was not provided in the initial reports. No updates on the conditions of the involved parties have been provided at this time. Local law enforcement officials are handling the ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash.
