Atchison, KS (June 24, 2024) – A passenger was hurt following a two-vehicle crash in the Atchison area on Sunday, June 23. The accident was reported at the intersection of 8th Street and Atchison Street that afternoon, around 4:05 p.m. Local reports revealed that 52-year-old Partha Chowdhury of Blue Springs, MO, was headed westbound in a 2016 Toyota Camry at the time of the crash.
At the same time, 47-year-old Clinton Ellerman of Atchison was traveling south on 8th Street in a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500. It was revealed that Chowdhury failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with the GMC. The Toyota then left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole. A passenger in the Sierra, 44-year-old Jamie Goodpasture of Atchison, was injured in the crash. The victim was transported to Amberwell Hospital for treatment. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
