Augusta, KS (May 28, 2024) – Several people were injured after a police pursuit ended in a crash in the Augusta area on Monday, May 27. The accident was reported at the corner of E. 7th Avenue and State Street late that night, around 6 p.m. The pursuit started after authorities attempted to stop a driver near the crossing of Highway 54 and Haverhill Road.
The driver who initiated the pursuit was later identified as 44-year-old Allan Milton Firman III of Wichita. Firman was attempting to elude authorities when he collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Augusta police officer Kyle Sisco. Firman and his passenger, a 47-year-old Derby woman, were hospitalized for the treatment of serious injuries. Sisco was also transported to a local hospital for additional support. The area was temporarily closed while emergency crews were present. No further information on the accident is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is in progress.
