Kansas City, KS (April 29, 2024) – A driver was hurt after a semi-truck collided head-on with a passenger car in the Kansas City area on Sunday, April 28. The accident was reported on Interstate 70 EB near mile marker 412 early that morning around 3:25 a.m. Local reports revealed that a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia operated by Liuver Contero-Pupo of Jacksonville, FL, was traveling eastbound on the interstate when the vehicle hydroplaned.
The truck entered westbound traffic where it collided head-on with another Freightliner. The impact caused the second vehicle to veer left where it hit a barrier wall and rolled. The second driver, 37-year-old Bernadin Lenescar of Grovetown, GA, was injured and treated at the scene by attending medical personnel. The area was temporarily closed emergency crews were present. No further information on the crash is currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
