Kansas City, KS (June 16, 2024) – There were confirmed injuries after a two-vehicle collision in the Kansas City area on Saturday, June 15. The accident was reported on Interstate 70 near mile marker 410.8 that afternoon around 4:55 p.m. Local reports indicated that a 2008 Toyota Corolla and a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox were traveling westbound leading up to the collision.
The driver of the Chevy, 64-year-old Barbara Lockhart of St. Joseph, MO slowed due to traffic on the interstate. The driver of the Toyota, 31-year-old Julio Viteri of Olathe, crashed into the back of the Equinox. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to provide the necessary aid. Both drivers were injured and provided treatment at the scene. No updates on the incident are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the incident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
