Bonner Springs, KS (April 8, 2025) – One person was injured Tuesday morning following a two-vehicle collision on southbound K-7 at mile marker 167.7 in Wyandotte County. The accident occurred around 7:36 a.m. and involved a motorcycle and an SUV.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, both vehicles were traveling south in the outside lane when the driver of a 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle attempted to change lanes. The motorcycle then rear-ended a 2018 Ford EcoSport, which had slowed or stopped for traffic. The impact resulted in injuries to the motorcyclist.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene. The rider of the motorcycle, identified as 35-year-old Jason Fieldse of Leavenworth, Kansas, was transported to KU Medical Center with suspected minor injuries. He was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the Ford, 53-year-old Penelope Maxwell of Basehor, Kansas, was not injured. The crash is under investigation, and no further details have been released.
